About the Institute

“We chose the image of a nautilus shell for our logo. With its logarithmic spiral, it has been a symbol of a natural order that applies equally to the tiniest foraminifera (microcosm) and the most gigantic spiral galaxies (macrocosm) since time immemorial. This timeless natural order is also at the heart of a holistic building biology: creating aesthetically pleasing dwellings that provide shelter and integrate optimally into the surrounding environment.”

Milestones

The “Institut für Baubiologie + Nachhaltigkeit IBN” (Institute of Building Biology + Sustainability IBN) proudly looks back on more than 40 years of pioneering educational programs and healthy building.

As the founder of the institute, Prof. Dr. Anton Schneider (1931–2015) was the patron and driving force right from the start.
